Worship 101:
Worship is to me one of the most misunderstood terms in Christian circles. Perhaps when we think of the word our minds run immediately to a half-baked musician banging away at a guitar that was recently pulled out of the attic with or without rhythm, dragging behind him what could be described as vaguely resembling a band but would more aptly be termed chaos. Or maybe it's just a musician with a guitar leading a band. Either way worship goes far beyond that to a man or women who lives their lives in constant humble submission and reverence to Jesus. Worship is a lifestyle.
All of us worship something or someone, it could be a boss, a career, our family, our spouse, our kids, money, material possessions, a lifestyle, the human body, sex, pleasure, music, something! And what we seek to do is to win hearts over to Jesus from all these idols and one of the ways God has given us is music. When true worshipers who are seeing Him for themselves and who's hearts and affections have been stolen by him come and serve others in bringing them to the same place, a place in which our hearts stirred, our eyes lifted and our souls rejoice, a place in which the sky is the limit!
So we are looking for people who are both keen and able to extend there constant and burning love for Jesus and insatiable desire to worship Him to music. People who by loving God have grown to love people and seek to serve them by leading them to Him week after week in worship until they stand as in awe of God and the person and work of Jesus as they themselves hopefully do. People to whom people are everything and God exceedingly more.
It's about connecting people to God with music!
